March 4, 2010 Well, Internet Explorer version 8 has been out for a while now and I've noticed that a lot of people seem to be neglecting some of the more useful features, so I wanted to re-discuss the features this month. I posted a discussion on IE8 in August, but it seems some of the most useful stuff was missed, so if you check out that discussion, the features will be described in detail. Pay particular attention to the section on InPrivate browsing. Anytime you want to view some web sites and make sure there is no important information exchanged with that site or you don't want any "tracks" left on your computer, use InPrivate browsing. Things like cookies and browsing history are not saved when using InPrivate browsing. One thing which I failed to mention in that discussion was using tabbed browsing. I am finding that many people are still starting up separate sessions of IE when they are going from one site to another and want to keep both available at the same time. This is the purpose for tabs. As you can see if the illustration below, I have three different sites open. I can then click on whichever tab I want to see. This is very useful for comparing information between sites.
