Changing Mouse Settings
You can customize your mouse settings to make things look and act the
way you want them to. If you go to the Start button, then (in
Windows 9X versions, click on Settings), then click on Control Panel. Now,
double-click the Mouse icon (in Windows XP, click on Printers and other
hardware, then click on Mouse).
Here again, some mouse software may change the screens a little, but
the basic settings are still the same. The first item would be
pretty much for left-handers. The Button Configuration swaps the
functions of the left and right buttons. You may find it helpful to
slow down the double-click speed.
Sometimes the computer can be rather finicky wanting the clicks to be
closer together so this setting will make things a little easier.
The click-lock is just what the description says. Most mouse settings
won't have this option.
The only setting I recommend you don't change is the single click
option. This makes everything work with a single click. While this sounds
more convenient, sometimes, like when using Windows Explorer to manipulate
files, the single click option makes it much more difficult to perform
functions. Some mice have this setting available and others don't.

In the screen below, you can select what you want the mouse pointer to
look like. You can use schemes for cursors, or set them individually
by highlighting the cursor you want to change, then clicking the Browse
button to find a cursor to use.
