If you get tired of setting the view settings for each folder, you can click on Tools, then Folder Options, make any advanced setting you want, then click on the Apply to All Folders button to make the settings apply to everything. NOTE: If you have directories with pictures in them, it may be best to set the folder for details, or whatever, then click on Apply to All Folders, then go to the folders the pictures are in and change the settings for those folders to Thumbnails.

If you want to move a file from one folder to another, you can find the folder on the left which the file is in, locate the file in the right pane, move the mouse cursor over the file, click and hold the left mouse button and drag the file to the folder on the left you want to move it to.  When you let go of the mouse button, the file will be moved.  Left clicking and dragging will move the file.

I prefer to use the right mouse button when dragging since when you go to the folder you want on the left, when you release the mouse button, you will get a menu giving you a choice of copying, moving, etc.  If you left click a and drag a file from one drive to another, it will copy the file rather than move it.
